The beginning of the trail is near MOR Horodyszcze on the Green Velo trail. From there, the route leads along the shore of the artificial Stankov Lagoon, which is a municipal bathing and recreational area.

Stankov Lagoon
A reservoir surrounded by greenery. A view of the water and surrounding meadows - a good spot for a first stop. StankowThe reservoir is the kingdom of the pond turtle, and it is a nationally unique species listed in the Polish Red Book of Animals. The reservoir, with an area of about 43 hectares, is a refuge for many protected birds, including gulls, terns and wild ducks. The bittern, an extremely rare and endangered bird, should attract special attention.

End of route
OreThe last section of the trail runs along the Uherka River and is particularly scenic. The trail ends in the village of Ruda, near the MOR on the Green Velo trail. You can return to Chelm along the same route or along the Green Velo trail through the village of Lesniczówka, which additionally allows you to see the interesting “Serebryskie Swamp” reserve.
Practical information
Free parking at MOR Chelm-Horodyszcze, next to the Stankov Lagoon. During the summer season on weekends it can be crowded – it is worth arriving early.
Binoculars – this is the route for bird lovers! Mosquito cream (forest + water = lots of insects, especially in summer). A light rain jacket for changing weather. Footwear on a harder sole will also come in handy, as most of the route is paved forest roads.
There are no stores or food outlets along the route. Bring a supply of water and provisions with you.
