Rest by the water, but still in the heart of the city

Boulevard on the Uherka River is the shortest and one of the two most “urban” routes in our collection. No need to fear boredom. The 3.5 km paved path along the Uherka River leads from the very center of Chelm all the way to the Zoltanka Reservoir, combining park avenues with riverside greenery.

You will cover the route on foot in less than an hour, and even faster on a bicycle. The murmur of the Uherka River, the view of the meadows and the statue of the Biker Bear are circumstances that make the ride or walk more pleasant. We recommend this route for a morning jog, an afternoon stroll with the family, or a short bike ride to the Zoltanka swimming area.

European Union City Park (START).
Park, fountains, playground

The park is the green heart of Chelm – fountains, benches, a playground and bicycle racks. From here you head south along the Uherka riverbed.

The boulevard with a walking and bicycle path is 3.5 kilometers long and leads from the City Park, along the bed of the Uherka River. On the route of the bicycle and walking path, rest squares and recreation squares have been organized, equipped with tables, benches, but also tables for games of chess, checkers, ping-pong. Bike racks have been set up in the squares, and there are special structures for outdoor barbecues. All recreational areas along the path have been planted with trees and shrubs. The boulevard is illuminated and monitored along its entire length, so it can be a safe place for walks and rides even at night.

Take a good look around the area and you will meet a small statue of a bear made of bronze. The bear is speeding on a bicycle through the boulevard on the Uherka River.

The middle section of the boulevard runs through open meadows on the Uherka River. In spring and summer – an ideal place for bird watching.

Swimming area, beach, seasonal gastronomy

Zoltanec Lagoon is a popular swimming area. In summer, organized here are: Beach, equipment rental and seasonal refreshment facilities.

The artificial reservoir has become a professional swimming area. The reservoir is divided into a recreational section (with a sandy beach, pier and infrastructure) and a section for anglers, where there is peace and quiet.

Infrastructure: You’ll find beach volleyball courts, an outdoor gym, and great dining facilities in season.
